About Course – PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER

Take your diving to the next level with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course! This course helps you build confidence and expand your skills through five exciting adventure dives—no classroom required.

You’ll try different types of diving, such as deep diving, underwater navigation, wreck diving, drift diving, or peak performance buoyancy. It’s flexible, fun, and a great way to explore more of the underwater world.

🧭 Course Structure

The course is divided into two main sections:

1. Deep Dive (up to 30 meters / 100 feet) – Explore deeper, dive smarter

Max depth: 30 meters / 100 feet (or 21 meters for Junior AOW)
In this dive, you’ll safely experience deeper waters under instructor supervision. You’ll learn:

• How depth affects pressure, color, air consumption, and buoyancy
• How to recognize and avoid nitrogen narcosis
• Deep dive planning, buddy checks, and safety procedures
• Performing a task at depth to feel how your body and thinking react
• Safe ascent rates and no-decompression limits

2. Underwater Navigation (– Find your way like a pro)

This dive focuses on mastering navigation skills using both compass and natural navigation techniques. You’ll learn to:

• Use a compass underwater to navigate straight lines and squares
• Recognize natural navigation cues: sand ripples, coral, light, and current
• Measure distance underwater using fin kicks or time
• Navigate to a specific location and return to the starting point
• Improve your confidence and independence underwater

Good navigation = more relaxed dives, safer exploration, and less stress on you and your buddy

Typically 2 days
(Flexible schedule depending on location and student pace)

Day 1 – Advanced (Deep, Navigation, Night Dive)

Day 2 – Advanced (PPB – Peak Performance Buoyancy & Wreck Dive)

📜 Certification

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification, which is internationally recognized and valid for life.

Requirements

To join the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course, you must be a certified Open Water Diver (from PADI or another recognized agency). The minimum age is 12 years for Junior Advanced Open Water, or 15 years for the full certification.

Participants must be in good physical health, complete a standard medical questionnaire, and feel comfortable diving in open water. While recent diving experience is recommended, no written exam is required—this course is focused on practical experience and underwater exploration.
